Our Services

  • During your child’s regular six-month appointment, they will have a comprehensive exam complete with a gentle and thorough cleaning to help prevent cavities and promote optimal oral health. We also offer fluoride treatments and BPA free sealants to protect and prevent tooth decay.

  • When cavities happen, we offer comforting care & thoughtful options. Tooth colored fillings restore teeth that have been fractured or decayed, taking the natural color of the tooth. Our fillings are biocompatible and BPA free.

  • If your child's tooth has a large amount of tooth structure missing due to extensive cavities or dental trauma, a crown is highly recommended. This option provides full coverage protection, remaining functional until your child’s tooth naturally exfoliates.

  • Preserving your child's natural teeth is always our number one priority. However, in some instances, extraction may be recommended when there's dental trauma, an over-retained tooth or a tooth is unrestorable from a cavity or dental infection. Our office can perform dental extractions of both the primary and permanent dentition. We offer different sedation options to ensure your child is comfortable during the procedure.

It is essential to follow all post-operative instructions provided by our office to promote optimal healing.

  • Silver-Diamine Fluoride (SDF) and Silver Modified Atraumatic Restorative Technique (SMART) filling is an alternative to traditional “drill and fill” in slowing down cavities. SDF has very low toxicity, and is a quick, painless, non-invasive method to slow down tooth decay and help prevent recurrent decay. There will be staining, but this means that the medicine is working! When followed by a SMART filling, we can cover the area and help prevent further decay.

Hall technique is an alternative option for primary teeth with severe decay and hypomineralization. This procedure does not require numbing, tooth preparation or sedation— meaning your child can skip the shots, drilling and general anesthesia for an easeful visit.

White Spot Lesion Removal (ICON resin infiltration) is a minimally invasive treatment used to treat white spot lesions and certain congenital hypocalcified enamel lesions, known as "hypo spots." They are caused by congenital defects, excess fluoride, and decay, and may occur in children who wear braces because it is difficult to thoroughly brush and floss all surfaces of the teeth. The white spots on the teeth are an early sign of tooth decay, and if left untreated, will lead to a cavity.

  • A true dental emergency occurs when your child has prolonged bleeding, severe tooth pain, active infection, or requires immediate treatment to save a damaged or knocked-out tooth. We are here to support your family and answer any concerns you may have during a dental trauma accident, providing the best care and attentive follow up.

  • Dr. Brenda has extensive hospital training treating children with special health care needs who have physical, medical, developmental or cognitive conditions. With compassion and understanding, Dr. Brenda will work at your child’s pace to keep them in an environment that allows them to feel safe and tolerate treatment. We are glad to provide catering treatment and service to their particular needs such as:

    •Desensitization visits

    •Sedation options

    •One-on-one care

Please let us know in advance how we can best accommodate your child.

  • We provide all of our patients with gentle, compassionate care. In most cases, this is suitable to help children overcome their fears of seeing the dentist. However, for patients who have severe anxiety, have an extensive dental treatment, or have special needs, we offer safe sedation dentistry.

Nitrous-oxide, also known as "laughing gas," is the most commonly used form of dental sedation. It provides the ideal level of relaxation as well as some analgesic effects. Your child's nose is covered with a comfortable mask that allows them to breathe a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide.

When inhaled, nitrous oxide enters the bloodstream through the lungs and quickly reaches the brain. There, it acts on the limbic system, which controls emotions. This results in a feeling of relaxation and can even produce some mild anesthesia.

The effects of nitrous oxide are mild, and you can typically observe your child feeling calmer and more relaxed. These effects are quickly reversible, and your child can resume regular activity shortly after.

Moderate oral sedation is performed with an oral medication that will result in your child feeling drowsy, but they are not sleeping. This sedation will help your child be more comfortable, and also has some analgesic and amnestic effects.

If your child requires extensive treatment, or cannot tolerate treatment with nitrous oxide, we partner with a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist to provide deeper sedation to make your child comfortable. This is all completed in the comfort of our office.

  • Space maintenance creates space for your child’s permanent teeth to erupt and properly come into place using a custom-made dental appliance fitted specifically to your child's mouth. It is temporarily cemented in your child's mouth until the permanent tooth has erupted, filling the available space.

  • Using state of the art technology, our team of experts treats tongue and lip ties in the comforts of our office. Learn more about our treatment here.
